Thank you to everyone who helped share, hang fliers, looked, called us, and
BIG GRAY FLUFFY CAT
BIG GRAY FLUFFY CAT
Elijah went missing 1/8/2022 when a crate broke on our way into the vet's office. He had a stress reaction and we lost sight of him when he ran.
Elijah is a former colony cat who hasn't been inside long (under a year), so he has some skills. He is however, now a pet and we want him back. We are desperate to find him.
We set up a feeding station near where he was lost.
Elijah has been posted with
2/2/2022 Still Missing. Still looking.
Fliers/Posters added every day.
We go every night to sit and call Elijah.
Alley and street behind where he was last seen is driven or walked every night.
Cat colony nearby is also visited most days
**WHAT TO DO IF YOU SPOT ELIJAH**
You can call or text 480.650.9037 if you have a photo and location that would be great!
Don't chase him. If you call his name and he meows at you, you probably have him! He is very food motivated.
If he lets you pick him up and you can get him secured (car, house, bathroom, anything) we will come immediately (though we do live 35 minutes from where he was lost). Securing him would require some patience. He is a former colony cat, so he is naturally suspicious, and even at home, he doesn't like to be held for long.
2/3/2022 Got a call from another feral feeder (of course it was a feeder, because they are magical in every way) just across the alley from the night before! They managed to contain him. He has a pretty bad upper respiratory infection, and is pretty upset, but he is home, has a vet appointment today, and we can get busy making him feel safe again.
We can't thank everyone enough for all the help and support we've received in the search, and it made this whole ordeal easier. We've marked the map if you want to see the details.
2/2/2022 Got a call about a R.I.P. cat on the next street over from sighting (marked on map)-thankfully it was not Elijah. we have photos and will post online. Scanned and called DAP.
2/1/2022 WE SPOTTED ELIJAH! A lovely group of feeders actually had their hands on him, but when we got there it was simply too much activity and he ran. We lost him in the houses (location is marked on the map). Feeders are keeping their eyes open, and we will redouble the effort in that area.
2/1/2022 1500 post cards with his handsome face are going out to all the homeowners in the area.
1/30/2022 We will be trapping at lost area over the next couple of weeks. Several of the cats are NOT doing well, and need some help.
1/29/2022-A larger effort to put signs and fliers in a larger area taking place. We have over 300 signs and posters covering more than a square mile.
1/12/2022-Present More Fliers and Posters added every day.
1/15/2022-Present we go where he was lost every night to refill the feeding station and call for Elijah and hope for a sighting.
1/15/2022-Present: We go to the known colonies and look. Feeders have been given fliers and are aware.
1/12/2022 Found a starving gray cat who looks similar at 43rd Ave and Northern that is not Elijah. She is being fed and will be trapped soon.
1/12/2022 Got a call that they saw Elijah 2 houses down from 1/10/2022 call, but that was the same cat, and not Elijah.
1/10/2022 Got a call that they had eyes on Elijah on Lane Avenue South of 42nd Ave, but it is not him
1/9/2022 Got a call about a new gray cat at another feeding station also near 42nd Ave and Agusta Avenue to the South, but was also not Elijah
1/8/2022 Got a call about a big gray cat who showed up at a feeding station near 42nd Ave and Agusta Avenue (across the alley to the East of where he was lost) about a big gray cat. Spent 3 nights out to spot him, but it was not Elijah.
